I started my announcing career at the Fossil Bowl Motocross Park in Clarkia, Idaho. I was racing dirt bikes at the time and was not very good at it. I was a six week guy. I would race, get hurt and then six weeks later I would be healed up, go racing and end up injured again. It was during one of the injury weekends, when I was nursing a hurt ankle, that the owner of the race track asked me to get on the mic for a while. I loved it. It was a great way to be involved at the track, with the riders and my friends, and spend my time on the weekends. After a season at the Fossil Bowl, I managed to get on with WHR Motorsports and call the action during the Northwest Arenacross Nationals.
During this time I was working at a Honda shop in Spokane, Washington during the week and then making the 6-8 hour drive (one way) to the other side of the state where more than 400 plus riders would moto for up to 10 hours a day in an enclosed
building. The smell of 2-stroke exhaust will always be one of my favorite “stinks”!
During these years I was also fortunate to be able to call motocross races at the Loretta Lynn’s AMA Amateur National Championship Outdoor Motocross, the CMC World Mini Amateur National Outdoor Championship in Las Vegas, and a plethora of local and regional big events including the Coeur d’ Alene Arenacross, Lewiston Supercross, and the Top Gun Team Shootout at Thurston County ORV to name a few.
The Arenacross racing gave me the opportunity to do some Monster Truck events with WHR that turned into a chance to announce for USA Motorsports and the “Motor Sports Spectacular” series. I travelled quite a bit for USA and then they were purchased by PACE Motorsports and I was given any even larger schedule with the new company. Since that time, PACE has been bought and sold many time, changing to SFX Entertainment, Clear Channel Motorsports, Live Nation and Feld Motorsports. During my time with PACE, now Feld Motorsports, I have been blessed with being able to travel extensively and work with nearly every property under their umbrella.
I was the series announcer for the National Arenacross series in 1999, have done countless IFMA (freestyle motocross) events, Formula USA events (road bike racing) Monster Jam (monster trucks), Nitro Jam and the Street Warriorz Series (Nitro Jam and Street Warriorz are drag race events). I have experience in sand drags, demolition derby, Formula USA Road Racing, arena truck racing, robots, quads, tractor pulls, and thrill acts due to Monster Jam. Being involved with Monster Jam has afforded me the opportunity to travel to Europe, be involved with the Monster Jam World Finals, and see nearly every state in the union.
I tried to work at the bike shop and announce, but something had to give. In 1999, I started my own business, RoadNoise Entertainment, quit my day job and went out on my own. Best business decision I have ever made.
Since starting RoadNoise I have stayed busy and have been able to see some of the most incredible motorsports events. I have been involved with 5 of the 10 Monster Jam World Finals, seen the first ever back flip completed on a snowmobile, great dirt bike action, been to Europe twice ( and for a kid from small town Idaho, I NEVER thought I would see the states let alone the world!) did a grand opening in Chicago at the Science and Technology Museum for the monster truck attraction, have been the host emcee for the Karl Malone Foundation for Kids event in Salt Lake City, met some of my childhood hero’s at the Sturgis motorcycle rally when I did a Rusty Wallace and Friends charity Legend car race, which was one of the 10 different events I was involved with during the 2000 edition of Sturgis.
I love what I get to do, and hope to be able to follow my American dream for many years to come. Most recently, I was involved with the National 4-Wheel Drive Jamboree in Bloomsburg, Pa. and hope to be able to do more Jambos in the future as they are tremendous events. I also was involved with the Men’s Health UrbanAthlon and Festival in Chicago.
From dirt bikes, to monster trucks, stock car racing, freestyle motocross, freestyle snowcross, BMX, Skateboarding, running events and more, RoadNoise Entertainment is READY!! I have met some of my best friends and a whole lot of great people in the last 15 years, which makes me feel very fortunate and I hope to keep the streak going.
RoadNoise Entertainment is my business, job and career. It’s all I do. No other job, no radio station work. I do live events and cut voice over commercials, and I do it to the best of my abilities. I do not cancel out and I schedule first come first serve.
If you book my services, I will give 110% to your audience, merchandise sales, create excitement and give a memorable story line to your event and talent. I have a very diverse background in motorsports, but that is not all that RoadNoise Entertainment is capable of. If you need a live event Emcee, I hope you will choose RoadNoise!
